When women are faced with hair-loss due to chemotherapy, they want to feel as beautiful as they did when they had hair. Courage for the Soul wants you to know you are not alone. Courage for the Soul provides a Scarf of Courage, at no cost, to women experiencing loss of hair as a result of chemotherapy.
Our goal is to, in some way, ease someone's journey, provide a ray of sunshine through a beautiful scarf, inspire hope, and courage to keep fighting cancer. Each scarf is a gift of courage that carries with it the support and infinite wishes of people who care. It also represents the courage and strength of those who wear it.

FOUNDER OF COURAGE FOR THE SOUL
Losing her hair was a profound moment for our founder Maria Luisa. As a teacher, she worried about how her students, families, and co-workers would react. It was not a comfortable feeling knowing she was going to be seen by everyone in such vulnerable way. When she received a scarf, gifted by her best friend, and a week later another by her cousin and his wife, it made the difference in how she went about to face her reality. It was such a meaningful moment.
It was finishing that race and conquering the fight, which inspired Maria Luisa to help other women walking the same path. The idea of spreading courage and lifting women's soul during their struggle with breast cancer was born after she completed treatment in October 2016. She wanted to share the same joy and courage she felt when she received her scarves.
This led to the creation of Courage for the Soul in May 2017 with the mission to spread courage and strength one scarf at a time to women fighting cancer. All Ages, All Stages, and All Cancers.

The name Courage for the Soul came through conversations and reflections about the courage it takes to fight cancer, to show up and not give up, to tell your story and like yourself as you are in the process.

The Courage for the Soul logo was meticulously created by Graphic Designer, Mikaela Schleis, combining the elements that are foundational to us. The laurel leaves symbolize strength, peace, and community - never alone. The woman with the headscarf symbolizes empowerment and the courage to show up and be seen.

They regularly meet and oversee everything from our finances to our upcoming plans for content, events, and everything in between.
